Unasylva - An international review of forestry and forest products
Cover photograph: More than half of world forest production is of firewood. For countless people like this bay gathering scrub fuel from the mountain side in Afghanistan, FAO's work in the development of world forestry is indirectly of great importance. The 1955 Session, of the Conference of FAO directely that the Organization's work relating to correct watershed management and the influences of forest and other vegetative cover, should be strengthened. Governments must spread information on the techniques for improving the management of forest and other vegetative corer on the slopes of watersheds.
